Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

Thank you for choosing Lakeshore Tours & Safari for your adventure in Tanzania. We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. This policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations and refunds to ensure a clear and fair process for both our clients and our company.

1. Deposits and Final Payments

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of "40% of the total tour price" is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. This deposit covers our administrative costs and the non-refundable payments we make to third-party suppliers (e.g., park fees, lodge reservations, internal flights).

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due "45 days" before the start of your tour. If the final payment is not received by this date, Lakeshore Tours & Safari reserves the right to treat the booking as canceled and apply the cancellation fees outlined below.

 

2. Cancellation by the Client

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to [Dominicmichael@lakeshoretoursandsafari.com]. The cancellation is considered effective on the date we receive your email.

The following cancellation fees will apply based on the number of days before your tour start date:

  • "45 days or more" before departure: Loss of deposit only.

  • "21 to 45 days" before departure: Loss of "50% of the total tour price"

  • "14 to 21 days" before departure: Loss of "75% of the total tour price"

  • "14 days or less" before departure, or "No Show": Loss of "100% of the total tour price"

 

3. Cancellations Due to Illness or Unforeseen Circumstances

We understand that medical emergencies or other personal unforeseen circumstances can disrupt travel plans. Please note that our standard cancellation policy applies in these situations. For this reason, we highly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for trip cancellation, interruption, medical expenses, and emergency evacuation.

 

4. Amendments to a Booking

If you need to make changes to your itinerary after the booking is confirmed, such as changing dates or participant names, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

  • A "$50 USD" amendment fee may be applied per change, in addition to any charges from our third-party suppliers.

  • Changes made "less than 14 days" before departure may be treated as a cancellation and subject to the cancellation fees outlined in Section 2.

 

5. Cancellations by Lakeshore Tours & Safari

While it is extremely rare, Lakeshore Tours & Safari reserves the right to cancel or alter any tour due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control e.g., natural disasters, political instability, severe weather, insufficient bookings for a group tour.

  • In such a case, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of:

    • A full refund of all payments made to us.

    • An alternative tour of a similar value.

    • Rescheduling your tour to a later date.

  • Lakeshore Tours & Safari is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by the client as a result of our cancellation, such as non-refundable flights, visa fees, or other travel arrangements.

 

6. No Refunds for Unused Services

No refunds will be provided for any unused services, including but not limited to:

  • Late arrivals or early departures from a tour.

  • Unused hotel nights, meals, or safari game drives.

  • A client leaving a tour already in progress for any reason.

 

7. Refund Processing

All refunds will be processed within "30 business days" of the confirmed cancellation date. Any applicable bank charges or credit card fees incurred during the refund process will be deducted from the refund amount.
